The development of Public Transportation Infrastructure needs utmost attention to solve the issues related to congestion, accidents, and pollution. Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) has turned out to be one the effective and safe mode. For smooth functioning of the same, all the infrastructure elements linked to the corridor must also be designed accordingly. The current study focuses on redesign of an intersection of BRT Phase-II corridor in Jaipur city. The deficiency in the existing design related to geometrics, traffic control features etc. were examined. The redesign of the selected intersection has been presented showcasing the safety gains.

This paper is based on bidding techniques in the deregulated power souk. Various countries throughout the world modified their power economics to make the regulated power system to deregulated power system (competition based) to foster opposition and improve efficiency. Bidding price reduction and stabilisation are provided by competition. The profit maximisation of power utilities is inextricably linked to bidding methods. Based on state-of-the-art research, author studied bidding approached and modelling methodologies to the various souk types. It also examines the competitive souk model of the global energy souk. The literature review highlights the fact that most study is focused on the supply side of the souk, while the demand side is still mostly unexplored. To maximise their personal profit in deregulated power souk, suppliers and buyers have an appropriate bid technique. This sparked a massive research effort by academics and practitioners in the worlds deregulated power souks. As a result, several authors have proposed numerous strategies to tackle the bid problem in the power souk. The purpose of this work is to lay out the best bid approach for generation companies and end users in the power souk. A literature review based on bid approaches used in power souk is also included in this study.

With increasing number of road accidents, there arises a demand for the measures and techniques that would help in reducing the occurrence and fatalities of such accidents. The term Traffic Calming is relatively new to India and presents itself as a promising strategy to curb the increasing number of road accidents. The present study is about the various measures that can be adopted to attain the objective of fewer road mishaps. For this, a Stakeholder Survey was conducted on Mahal Road, Jagatpura, Jaipur to understand the issues related to the increase in traffic volume over the past few years. Results show that the increase in traffic volume on Mahal Road is attributed to the infrastructural development in the region owing to commercialization of the area in the recent years. Moreover, Mahal Road lacks the availability of public transport and utilities like pedestrian facilities and cycle tracks. Finally, some conclusions are drawn from the survey results and recommendations made for improving the road users experience.

Walkability is a mostly used way of moving from one place to other. In recent times it has been affected due to the rise in vehicles on the road and it reduces the smooth mobility of pedestrians. Jaipur has seen a rapid increase in population and no. of accidents. Stretch is selected based on land use as it is 3.6 km. problems were identified and public opinion was also carried out to find out their concerns and needs. Based on their responses, suggestions and improvements are provided.

In today’s scenario, availability of natural aggregates is diminishing and simultaneously the waste generation due to debris of demolished buildings is increasing considerably. Incorporationg these demolished materials into construction process can provide a respite from both these issues. The aggregate from demolished structures mainly consists of 70-80% of concrete components as per different studies, so it will be very beneficial for the environment to recycle this aggregate for construction works. Most of the pavements are handling the traffic load more than for what they have been designed initially. In addition to the seasonal variation, the pavement is subjected to different temperature throughout the year. For road construction, type of material selected is based on the climatic condition of the location. The quality of binder is refined in order to enhance its performance during service life. In present scenario, use of polymer modified binder is very common to improve binder. In this study, two types of binders are used VG-30 and PMB-40. The changes in physical properties are measured by performing tests like softening point, ductility and elastic recovery on aged and un-aged sample. The testing was performed as per the codal provisions of code IS 1201-1220-1978, ASTM-D 17540 and IRC: SP: 53-2010. The effect of ageing on physical properties of binder is outlined in tabular form.

With the undeniably increasing environmental problem, sustainable power innovation has become a consistent subject of discussion. The turn of events, and also the usage of the pulse width modulation inverter, is a critical link in the implementation of appropriate electricity. In addition, one of the most serious problems with the activity of PWM inverters is over -modulation. Over Modulation (OM) technology can successfully enhance output critical voltage and current, reduce framework dynamic reaction time, and expand the working area of a consistent phase. Even though it was only briefly mentioned in the writing, the orderly examination has yet to be distributed. To make an impact this study covers the current state of research, challenges that have arisen, and the advancement of the OM technique for PWM inverters. The significant problems with the excessive modulation approach are discussed.

In terms of technological advancement, DGs take part in minimizing power losses in the distribution system so as to achieve load requirements. An increase in power production has been capable of meeting growing demands at loading stations for the distribution system. One way to meet the essential load demand is to decrease the overall losses in distribution system. By lowering the reactive power losses of the system, actual power can be increased over the network. Therefore, in the distribution system by optimally allocating the DGs in distribution system we can decrease the power losses. The aim of the paper is to decide the best possible site and size of DG units to curtail the total reactive power losses & thereby reducing real power losses while keeping better voltages in distribution network. This paper work suggested an analytical method and also a new constant that identify the best optimally rating & site of DG. An objective function is presented to find the reactive power loss when fortified with DGs. The technique is experienced on standard 33 bus systems.  On the basis of total reactive power loss minimization with real power loss minimization results are compared. The obtained results demonstrate that RPL reduction in RDS is feasible as compared to others.

Distribution generation is the future of electrical energy because the fuels (such as coal) used in conventional methods are decreasing day by day. The demand for electricity is increasing rapidly. Hence, consumption of conventional fuels is also increasing resulting in depletion of these resources and high carbon emissions. Also, the harmful impacts caused by these resources has shifted the focus of industries and researchers towards more eco-friendly methods i.e. renewable sources of energy. Integrating these renewables with existing system is the new trend. Various studies have been carried out discussing the merits and demerits of DG integration with the central grid. The process of adding distributed generators with the power system is quite challenging. The DG’s should be added such that it enhances the system performance and increases reliability. This paper discusses about the optimal placement of DG to reduce power losses in the network.

Drilling is the process in which material is removed by the help of curved drills. Wide varieties of drill processes are available to serve different purposes with maximize the rate of material removal.This paper describes optimization statement for maximization of MRR with suitable constraints. The formulated optimization problem is solved using Jaya Algorithm.The obtained results are compared with literature.

Solar energy is most promising alternative to the existing environment polluting conventional fuels and abundunt source of renewable energy. Solar thermal collectors are the medium to harness the solar energy to get converted it into thermal energy. Evacuated tube solar thermal collectors are most efficient design which shows better performance and productivity even at very elevated range of temperatures. Therefore, researchers are always carrying their work to propose the more efficient and effective design. Present work reviews the literature which mention the design modifications to further enhance the productivity and performance. However, it cannot be denied that operational factors are also very important aspect. Reported work primarily covers the modifications followed to improve absorption of solar energy by means of absorber design and reflector selection. It can be concluded with the study that U-tube type ETC and CPC reflectors are optimum design to offer enhanced productivity and performance.

Rotary Ultrasonic Machining (RUM) is a productive and successful tool used for cutting and machining of fiber-reinforced polymer composites. Fiber-reinforced polymer composites have great applications which have been extensively used in aircraft workings, marine, automotive components and sporting goods. The primary machining operation is surface machining which is the most recurrently employed process on fiber-reinforced composites. However, some challenges like rough surface quality, short tool life, low machining precision and rough edges have not yet discover general applications. The ultrasonic frequency and amplitude both affect the ultrasonic vibrations. Different input parameters such as feed rate, tool rotation speed, depth of cut and ultrasonic power affect on output parameters such as removal rate of material, tool wear and surface roughness which have been studied in this research. The available literature on different machining parameters help in finding research gap in rotary ultrasonic machining process. The consequences of input machining parameters on material removal rates and surface roughness are the key findings of this research.
