Abstract:

An environmentally benign protocol has been developed for the reaction of napthoquinones with 1,2-diamines thus forming napthaquinoxaline derivatives. Three different ionic liquids [BBIM]Br, [BMIM]Br and [BMIM]BF4 were employed for this strategy. It offers several advantages such as easy product isolation, high yield, eco-compatibility and no hazardous byproducts .
